Hey again.

This is the final question and it’s from Jaroslav. This will appeal particularly to newbies in the field.

Jaroslav question is simple yet can be a little baffling when your starting out. Where to get backlinks. There are SO many places and different wayst to get backlinks that I’ll try and summarize a little.

Hi John

I’m struggling to get one way links to my website. What is the best way to get them?

 Thanks Jaroslav

Backlinks can come from so many places and there’s a huge variety in terms of quality. First of all, one of the easiest places to get good quality backlinks is from EzineArticles. But this is just the start, (If it’s within your budget then EVO II is a great solution).

But don’t stop at articles directories. You can create your own free links using social properties like, blogger, Wordpress etc. You can also use social bookmarking sites – There are lists of them all over the web and services like Onlywire to help you manage them. Just make sure that if you’re creating other blogs etc that you link to those too. You can use this strategy to build your own little SEO network.

Although this takes a while, one great way to get backlinks is by leveraging web 2.0 properties. Find social sites and blogs, forums that are related specifically to your niche. Get involved, add content with good value and nobody will mind you putting backlinks in your signature.

Another popular place is Squidoo. Build a good lens and work on it and you could see a steady stream of traffic.

ALSO – This is a really good way of generating backlinks – RSS if your promoting blogs then you will alreday have an RSS feed. If your using static sites then you can get scripts or use free services like Peter Drews “HTML to RSS“. Once you have your RSS feeds these will contain links to your webpages so promote these feeds to RSS aggregators. There are so many so just do a search on Google for “RSS aggregators”.

As you can imagine all of this can take a lot of work. This is why most marketers try to automate as much as possible. Personally, I like to use EVO II and LinkVana. Check around my blog if you want to know more about EVO II, Linkvana is basically a large blog network and you can automate the drip-feeding of your backlinks leaving you time to focus on other things.

It really comes down to time vs. money.

If you have the budget to invest in the tools then it’s really very easy, you just have to work on strategy. But if you don’t have any cash to invest right now that’s fine too but it’s gonna take a little longer and a little more effort.

I hope this helps to point you in the right directtion Jaroslav.

Best of luck in 2010!

Regards,

John.

Well guys,

I promised to answer your questions so here I am.

As you can see I like to give detailed answers so please be patient, I will get around to your question:

The first question is from Tresa, who wants to know more about getting good quality content for her sites.

My hang up currently is getting articles out faster. I have the means to do keyword research, then a software that can bring up relative content to keyword from 100 or more latest Google articles.

I have tried a cheap spinner but do not like the results as it only replaces a few words. I am slow to go when it is to re write this information myself although I prefer it to have control what sentences and what feeling aspect I want the articles to have so that it is not duplicated content and give something of value.

So my question is- Is there a really good spinner that can rewrite several ways and produce many articles that gives quality? I do not mind to proofread and change a few errors.

Or do you know of a reputable author writing service that is very reasonable that I can send the related content to and then they will write from my searched content and keywords? Which I’m sure I will have to proofread and fix a few errors also. This I’m sure will also cost more for a few articles with same keyword than a good spinner could do.

I think a spinner would allow me more control to oversee the content and cost less than a author writing service. Or should I just buckle down and schedule my rewrites and make it a big part of my business activities?

Do you have some insight to article writing? Thanxs. Tresa.

Hi Tresa,

O.K – Articles. When I first started out building Adsense sites I didn’t really have any money to invest so I too was writing all my articles myself. I’m not by nature a writer unless I’m writing about something I enjoy, and when I’m creating Adsense sites, it’s rare that I get excited about my topic.

Like you, I also invested in many different article spinners and I can categorically say now:

PLEASE DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!

Yes there are some cheap ones and also some more flashy varieties with all different types of bells and whistles. BUT, in order to get a good quality unique article you have to spend time with them.

On top of this they are not generally optimized for your target keyword so you have to fit that in too. So by the time you’ve re-written your article, and made it SEO optimized for you Keyword(s) you may as well have written a unique article from scratch. By all means use your tools for research purposes but don’t take it any further than this.

There is one tool I use for some types of promotion and you can check this out here: ContentFX, but if you’re on a tight budget then save your money for more worthwhile things.

FAR better, is to use a good quality article writing service and in my opinion they don’t come better than Need-An-Article.net, (This is an affiliate link by the way). There are a number of writers there who are all skilled in various different niches, and I have never had a poor article returned.

Need-An-Article will cost you around $10 per month and then $5.52 (+$0.50 for long-tail keywords) for each article you have written. If you wish, they will also do re-writes for around $3 per article but I don’t use that service. This is FAR cheaper than any other service of similar quality.

If you do choose this or any other article writing service then here are my general specifications when I ask for an article.

First I specify what style of writing I want:

Technical

Sales orientated

Chatty

etc…

Then I can point the writer to any resources (such as other articles or web-content I have found).

Then I ask for my target keyword to be used in the first and last paragraph and also sprinkled in the main article body, but NOT more than once every 100 words. This keeps the article focussed and optimized but it won’t get penalized for keyword spamming.

Although I proof-read the articles that are returned, it’s very rare that I have to make any amendments.

NOTE: When your trying to rank in the search engines try and work WITH them as oppose to working around them. Although Google may not recognise multiple versions of the same article it’s not what they are looking for, and if they do spot it, you will lose your rankings. A handful of backlinks from good quality sites with good content is far better than a ton of poor quality backlinks from sites containing poor quality (or lots of duplicate) content.

It’s very common when starting out to wnat to find a few short-cuts, to make what seems an impossible task a little easier but in the end it’s far better to just do it right form the start and you won’t be dissapointed.

I hope that helps Tresa and if you (or anybody else) has any comments or would like to know anything else about articles then please use the comments section below.

Thanks!

John.

When you make the decision to focus on Internet Marketing there is one skill that I consider a necessity in order to make you rbusiness succeed. Of course i’m talking about SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

I know that not everybody will agree with me here and there are a number of marketers who do quite well without knowing a damn thing about SEO. Â BUT, either they pay someone else to worry about it or they are missing a big chunk of business by failing to realize it’s importance.

Even if you pay for your traffic using PPC methods then SEO is important. Without ut you could end up paying $10 per click instead of $0.50.

So where does all this come in to your business model? You may not even have a business model right now. Internet Marketing may just be a hobby or a way of paying those extra bills. Perhaps you’re just getting started.

I was lucky enough to find out how important SEO is very early on and that’s why I started building Adsense sites. That’s also why I teach people to start with Adsense.

By starting off your business with Adsense you learn so many of the key skills needed to succeed online. Site-building, Ad placement, SEO, Niche Research, Keyword Research.

Even if you’re creating your own products you won’t get far without these skills. How do you know what to produce if you don’t know your own market?

One great resource for SEO is a book by the well-known Brad Callen, You can downlod it for free right here: “SEO Made Easy”

Or if you prefer a more hand in hand approach then you can still get Adsense Fortress at the Greatly reduced price of $77. Yes it concentrates on Adsense, but the whole idea is to teach my readers the fundementals of SEO and Internet Marketing so they can build a real business and scale it to fit their needs.

Of course it’s great to learn thes techniques but the only real way of making this work is to get out there and do it. Run your own tests based on the advice your given. Learn what works and what doesn’t.

Most importantly of all – ALWAYS leverage the assets you have already built in order to further your achievements. This is something i’m going to talk about in my next post.
