Where to Get One-Way Links?

Hey again.

This is the final question and it’s from Jaroslav. This will appeal particularly to newbies in the field.

Jaroslav question is simple yet can be a little baffling when your starting out. Where to get backlinks. There are SO many places and different wayst to get backlinks that I’ll try and summarize a little.

Hi John

I’m struggling to get one way links to my website. What is the best way to get them?

 Thanks Jaroslav

Backlinks can come from so many places and there’s a huge variety in terms of quality. First of all, one of the easiest places to get good quality backlinks is from EzineArticles. But this is just the start, (If it’s within your budget then EVO II is a great solution).

But don’t stop at articles directories. You can create your own free links using social properties like, blogger, WordPress etc. You can also use social bookmarking sites – There are lists of them all over the web and services like Onlywire to help you manage them. Just make sure that if you’re creating other blogs etc that you link to those too. You can use this strategy to build your own little SEO network.

Although this takes a while, one great way to get backlinks is by leveraging web 2.0 properties. Find social sites and blogs, forums that are related specifically to your niche. Get involved, add content with good value and nobody will mind you putting backlinks in your signature.

Another popular place is Squidoo. Build a good lens and work on it and you could see a steady stream of traffic.

ALSO – This is a really good way of generating backlinks – RSS if your promoting blogs then you will alreday have an RSS feed. If your using static sites then you can get scripts or use free services like Peter Drews “HTML to RSS“. Once you have your RSS feeds these will contain links to your webpages so promote these feeds to RSS aggregators. There are so many so just do a search on Google for “RSS aggregators”.

As you can imagine all of this can take a lot of work. This is why most marketers try to automate as much as possible. Personally, I like to use EVO II and LinkVana. Check around my blog if you want to know more about EVO II, Linkvana is basically a large blog network and you can automate the drip-feeding of your backlinks leaving you time to focus on other things.

It really comes down to time vs. money.

If you have the budget to invest in the tools then it’s really very easy, you just have to work on strategy. But if you don’t have any cash to invest right now that’s fine too but it’s gonna take a little longer and a little more effort.

I hope this helps to point you in the right directtion Jaroslav.

Best of luck in 2010!

Regards,

John.
